Below we have compiled some useful tips to assist you in handling your CHRIS BENZ watch everyday:

  • To avoid damages at the movement, don´t open your watch by yourself.
    Therefore please contact your CHRIS BENZ Service Center.
  • To avoid consequential damages in case of a falling you should put on your watch over tables or flat surfaces only.
  • The crown must be always put in her original position and must be locked after setting time and calendar.
  • Never pull out or rotate the crown if the crown is wet. This water can get inside the watch and results malfunctions.
  • Please check the screw-lock crown before each dive, or before any water contact. The watch will be only water-resistant if the crown is locked and securely closed. Procedure details you will find in the instruction manual.
  • Clean your CHRIS BENZ watch and the strap after each dive or salt water contact with a damp cloth. You should absolutely avoid crustings (through salt water residues). Regularly cleaning supports a longer life of straps and gaskets.
  • You should never use cleanser from the super market. They can contain chemical components, which can engages your materials of your watch. You should only use cleanser, which are made for watch cleaning.
  • For cleaning the leather straps please remove them always. A wet leatherstrap should be wiped dry. Otherwise it may be become brittle after long time.
  • While manual loading or setting date and calendar, please take the opportunity to clean your watch shortly with a soft cotton cloth or a damp cloth.
  • Let damages at the housing immediately repair by a CHRIS BENZ specialist. Only a sealed and undamaged case can protect the movement perfectly. Therefore please contact your CHRIS BENZ Service Center.
  • Use dust-free places (case or display cabinet) for keeping your watch, valuable watches in the safe of course. Extremely low (-10 degrees C) and extremely high (50 degrees C) temperatures should be avoided.

Change of Batteries

It is important to us that you enjoy our CHRIS BENZ watches for many years.

To ensure this, please turn only to an Official CHRIS BENZ Dealer or our CHRIS BENZ Service Center if you need a battery change. With us, you can be sure that the battery change, including the pressure test, will be carried out by a professional technician who has the necessary professional competence.

We also ensure that your watch undergoes a further complete check before being sent back to you.

  • Time required for processing:
    After receipt in our Center, we require 2 - 4 workdays for the complete service check.
  • Cost:
    39,95 EUR, plus insured return delivery with DHL (5,00 EUR within Germany / 15,00 EUR within the EU).
  • Payment:
    Payment can be made by cash on delivery (plus a 4,50 EUR COD fee, only within Germany), credit card, PayPal or in advance.

  3. Package the watch and the service order form securely.
    Please do not include other items like operating instructions, etc.
  4. Send the watch to:

    Germany

    NOTE: We recommend that you send the watch as an insured package.

  5. After service is completed we send back the watch as an insured package via DHL. Upon giving your package to DHL, you will receive a freight confirmation by e-mail including a link for tracing your package.

In our CHRIS BENZ Service Center you can be sure that all the work, including the pressure test, will be carried out by a professional technician who has the necessary professional competence. Therefore only original CHRIS BENZ spare parts are used exclusively.

We also ensure that your watch undergoes a further complete check before being sent back to you.

Warranty information

Warranty information for CHRIS BENZ products

CHRIS BENZ guarantees the CHRIS BENZ Service Centre (hereinafter referred to as ‘Service Centre’) using their own discretion will rectify any material or processing defects during the warranty period in accordance with the conditions set out here, either through

  • a) Repair
  • b) Replacement
  • c) Refund of the product purchase price.

This warranty is only valid and enforceable in the country in which the product was purchased, unless local legislation stipulates otherwise.

Warranty period for CHRIS BENZ Diving Watches

The warranty period begins on the original purchase date. The warranty period totals 2 (two) years.

Exclusion of liability

This warranty does not cover:

  • a) Normal signs of wear and tear.
  • b) Damage caused by improper handling.
  • c) Damage caused by improper use of the product or by not complying with the user instructions.
  • d) Replaceable batteries.

The warranty shall also not apply if:

  • a) The device was opened in deviation from its intended use.
  • b) The device was not repaired using approved replacement parts, or was changed or repaired by a non-authorised Service Centre.
  • c) The serial number has in some way been removed, changed or made illegible. In such cases, any decision made will be at the sole discretion of CHRIS BENZ.

CHRIS BENZ cannot be held liable for downtime or faults in diving watches.

Making use of CHRIS BENZ warranty services

You must be in possession of the corresponding purchase receipt or the original warranty certificate in order to make use of CHRIS BENZ warranty services. Please consult with an official CHRIS BENZ dealer in your area.

Limitation of liability

This limited warranty is your sole and exclusive remedy for defects, to the extent permitted by law, and supersedes all other express or implied warranties. CHRIS BENZ assumes no liability whatsoever for specific and additional claims for damages, incidental, punitive or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of anticipated profits, loss of data, loss of use, capital expenditures, costs for substitute equipment or facilities, claims of third parties, damage to property arising out of the purchase or use of the product or from any breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, product defects, liability in tort or any legal or circumstances, even if CHRIS BENZ was aware of the possibility of such damages. CHRIS BENZ shall not be liable for delays in the provision of warranty services.
